Last year ended with great news for the RiBL co-director Professor Anoush Margaryan  – prestigious Carlsberg Foundation awarded her a monograph grant for a new book project on Human Capabilities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Learning Machines.

Her book will tackle a big question of our times: what are the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms for human capabilities and human development? Specifically, the book will analyse and map knowledge, skills, and dispositions that are required for humans to function productively in our society where AI/ML technologies are increasingly embedded in practices and processes in the workplace and everyday life. Whilst the book is in early stages of development, you can listen to Professor Margaryan presenting her thinking on the topic of human capabilities in the age of AI at a one-day conference that will take place on 16 May 2024 at Copenhagen Business School. The international, cross-sectoral event will bring together researchers with representatives of industry, and policy bodies to discuss and debate on the future of work and skills in the digital economy.
