RiBL Reading Group on Lifelong Learning

The next RiBL reading group will be dedicated to the topic of lifelong learning.

Lifelong learning is a key strategic area of interest at CBS and a core theme within the ongoing reform of higher education in Denmark. As an impetus for the discussion, we have decided to focus on two articles by Stephen Billett, a prominent scholar in the field of adult education and lifelong learning. The first article was written as a response to a national inquiry into the future of lifelong learning in the UK. Although published over 10 years ago, the critical points around conceptualization of lifelong learning raised in the paper are still highly relevant and applicable to the current developments. The second article delineates lifelong learning and lifelong education, pointing out important differences between the two concepts and the consequential implications for policy and practice.
