There are two main project goals for the RiBL Project
RiBL pursues the dual goal of (i) advancing the understanding of fundamental processes and practices underpinning effective learning and teaching with technology and (ii) developing and testing practical applications, toolkits, design and recommendations to inform and guide policy and practice of technology-enhanced learning and teaching at CBS and higher (business) education and lifelong learning more broadly.
To this end, RiBL comprises two key, interrelated strands of activities: Research and Development. RiBL’s research and development (R&D) programme is organised around four interrelated themes:
- Theme 1. Effects and outcome measures of blended learning
Projects in this theme focus on the development of measures and methodologies to analyse and identify the effects and outcomes of blended learning in higher education
- Theme 2. Changing roles of teachers and students
Projects examine the ways in which the roles of teachers and learners are changing or ought to change to enable pedagogically-effective technology-enhanced learning.
- Theme 3. Future of higher education
This theme explores organisational, societal and policy implications of innovations in technology-enhanced learning and teaching and the future of higher business education more broadly.
- Theme 4. Bridging University and emergent work practices
Projects in this theme analyse how teaching and learning in higher (business) education can be better aligned with the emergent work practices, particularly in the context of digitalisation and platformisation of work, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-mediated and algorithmically-supervised work.
